Elmira College is dedicated to ensuring our English Language Learner students are prepared for success during and after their higher education experience.
Elmira College offers a variety of resources to meet the needs of our English Language Learner (ELL) students, including English language courses focused on improving speaking and listening in the college classroom. The College also offers an English Language Learner Modifications Program that provides additional classroom supports for ELL students such as extended test time, distraction free testing locations, peer note taking services, and additional English language tutoring. Individual ELL students meet regularly with the Program Coordinator to determine and review the appropriate classroom modifications as they progress in their studies.
